Darkness and Light (PK Shell I-1)

All Things Bright and Beautiful Lyrics

Author: Cecil F. Alexander
Sung by: Basil Hoddinott

Refrain

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.

Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings.

Refrain

The purple headed mountains,
The river running by,
The sunset and the morning
That brightens up the sky.

Refrain

The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,
He made them every one.

Refrain

He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.

Refrain

God Created Light

Note to Adult

This lesson introduces the Bible to the child and presents God as the Creator of all things.  The lesson is about God creating heaven and earth out of the great void.  There was nothing.  Then there was something.  The light God created was just that light, not stars.  The stars, sun, and moon come later.  Not on the first day.  The coloring page lacks defined objects other than the lighting bolt to represent light.
